How much time should I schedule between my wedding ceremony and reception?
If you are having both your wedding ceremony and reception at The Florian Gardens, you should plan no longer than one and a half hours between your wedding ceremony and reception. This allows enough time for a typical ceremony, receiving line, and some pictures, but not so much time that your guests start to get bored. If your wedding ceremony is off-premise, you will have to account for driving time. Our wedding coordinator will be happy to work with you on an individual basis to work out timing.

The Florian Gardens is located in close proximity to I-94. Is the interstate noise a problem during outdoor wedding ceremonies?
Typically it is not an issue, and we do include a sound system with the garden rental fee. Our gardens are actually surrounded by earth embankments and foliage plants and trees, creating a small valley that blocks the vast majority of the highway noise. Feel free to stop by and see for yourself!

I heard that your facility books up quite quickly, is that true?
Saturdays are the most popular days for weddings, so they fill up quickly. We can host up to three garden wedding ceremonies per day, so be sure to check our availability! Fridays and Sundays are also quite popular and tend to be more readily available. Friday weddings are great, because you have all weekend to relax with friends and family. Sundays are also wonderful because you get all weekend to prepare, and your guests may choose to take Monday off from work (and who doesn’t like to take Monday off!).

What is included with the ballroom rental?
The ballroom rental includes tables set for eight guests, standard uncovered chairs, white tablecloths and napkins, china place settings, glassware, flatware, a skirted guestbook table, head table, cake table, and gift table, and set-up and tear-down of all of the above. Ballrooms are available at 10 AM the day of the wedding for decorating. Receptions are limited to seven hours or less and are required to end by midnight. Option to purchase additional time is $200 per hour.

Do you have more than one wedding at the same time?
Our facility is private, which means we require all groups to have a reservation to be here, but we are not exclusive. There is a possibility that there will be another wedding at our facility the same day as yours, but we do not hold more than one ceremony at a time. There are three garden time blocks to choose from - 12 PM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 6 PM or 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. There is only one wedding for each time block. For groups having an evening reception at our venue we recommend reserving either the 3 PM to 6 PM or the 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM time block. Available ballrooms may be rented to another group for an event concurrent with yours. Should you want exclusive use of the indoor facility you are welcome to rent all three rooms.

Can I hire my own vendors?
The Florian Gardens will provide the food, beverages and rentals for your wedding. You are welcome to contract any other professional vendors directly. The Florian Gardens has a listing of our preferred vendors for you to choose from or you are welcome to hire your own.

Do you have a cake cutting fee?
Our cake cutting fee is $.55 per person. That fee includes the cutting, plating and service to your guests. If you are having cupcakes brought in there is a $.25 per person china plate fee. We require you to have The Florian Gardens staff cut your cake. Service is optional.

How can we sample the menu?
The Florian Gardens hosts tasting parties twice a year. These parties are called our Wedding & Engagement Parties. You will be invited to the property to taste sample hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees and wine selections. In addition, The Florian Gardens will showcase some of our rental options for linens, and decorations. Brides who are booked with us will receive complimentary admission to the show. You are welcome to bring as many family members and friends with you as you'd like. Admission for non-brides is $10 if reserved in advance or $12 if paid at the door.

When are payments due?
A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking. If you have reserve a garden we require the full garden rental plus tax upon booking. For ballrooms we require 75% of the full ballroom rental. The first deposit secures your date. For groups having their reception here we require a second deposit due six months before the wedding. Second deposits are either $500 or $1000 depending on the number of rooms you have rented. Final payment is required at the time you give your final guest count, 10 days before the wedding.

Do we need an appointment to view the property?
The Florian Gardens hosts many different private events seven days a week, because of this, appointments are strongly recommended.
